Bodile's size ranges intentionally overlap. If your bust, waist or hips comfortably fit two sizes, use torso length as an important deciding measurement for leotards. A longer torso may feel more comfortable in the larger overlapping size, while a shorter torso may suit the smaller option.
How to Measure for Bodile Dancewear
Measure over underwear or close-fitting dancewear using a flexible tape measure. Stand naturally and keep the tape comfortably against the body without pulling it tight.
Torso Length
Key Leotard MeasurementFollow Bodile's measuring diagram and measure the length of the torso vertically down the body. Keep the tape straight and close to the body without pulling it tight.
Bodile calls this measurement Torso Length. It should not be substituted with the full shoulder-through-crotch girth loop commonly used by some other dancewear brands.
Bust
Measure around the fullest part of the bust, keeping the tape straight and level around the body without compressing it.
Waist
Measure around the natural waist, usually the narrowest part of the torso. Keep the tape level and comfortably close to the body.
Hips
Measure around the fullest part of the hips and seat while standing naturally. Keep the tape level all the way around.
Height
Stand straight without shoes, with feet flat on the floor, and measure from the floor to the top of the head.
Height is not included in Bodile's women's size table, but it can be useful when considering overall body proportions alongside torso length.

Violet-Plum Velvet & Supportive ECOSCULPT® Fabric
Curved corset-style seams shape the velvet front panels, tapering towards the lower edge of the bodice. A deep V-shaped SUPRABLIME® mesh insert introduces smoky contrast at the centre front, with mesh continuing through the sides and upper back. Gold-tone sliders allow the black camisole straps to be adjusted.
The main body uses ECOSCULPT® — 78% ECONYL® regenerated nylon and 22% Lycra. Soft and breathable, it combines supportive compression with stretch and shape recovery for a close, sculpting feel. The smooth aubergine-plum lower body provides a darker base beneath the velvet.
A medium-cut ballet leg and 100% cotton gusset complete this Australian-designed leotard. The front insert, sides and upper back remain intentionally semi-sheer.
Fit & Styling Your Bella Fig Leotard
Bella runs true to size, with adjustable shoulder straps to refine the upper fit. Settle the main body comfortably before adjusting the straps, then check the neckline position through your usual arm movements. Avoid pulling on the delicate mesh when dressing.
Pair Fig with the Bodile Gisella skirt for a flowing rehearsal outfit. Its half-circle mesh shape, high-low hem and ribbon ruching add movement beneath the velvet bodice. Choose a complementary skirt shade and keep other layers simple, with pink ballet tights for a classical finish.
Dance World Tip: Adjust Gisella’s ribbon ruching while wearing it over Bella so you can see how the gathered skirt sits beneath the tapered bodice. Leotards and skirts are sold separately.
