Mika Mesh Ballet Skirt - Adjustable Ruching & High-Low Hem

Bodile women's sizing uses overlapping size ranges from XXS/XS through L/XL. For the most reliable fit, compare your bust, waist, hip and torso-length measurements rather than converting directly from everyday clothing size. For leotards, torso length is particularly useful when deciding between two overlapping sizes.
Bodile Ladies Dancewear Size Chart
Compare bust, waist, hips and torso length to find your best starting size. Bodile sizes intentionally overlap, so more than one size may suit some body measurements.

Bodile's size ranges intentionally overlap. If your bust, waist or hips comfortably fit two sizes, use torso length as an important deciding measurement for leotards. A longer torso may feel more comfortable in the larger overlapping size, while a shorter torso may suit the smaller option.
How to Measure for Bodile Dancewear
Measure over underwear or close-fitting dancewear using a flexible tape measure. Stand naturally and keep the tape comfortably against the body without pulling it tight.

Torso Length
Key Leotard MeasurementFollow Bodile's measuring diagram and measure the length of the torso vertically down the body. Keep the tape straight and close to the body without pulling it tight.
Bodile calls this measurement Torso Length. It should not be substituted with the full shoulder-through-crotch girth loop commonly used by some other dancewear brands.
Bust
Measure around the fullest part of the bust, keeping the tape straight and level around the body without compressing it.
Waist
Measure around the natural waist, usually the narrowest part of the torso. Keep the tape level and comfortably close to the body.
Hips
Measure around the fullest part of the hips and seat while standing naturally. Keep the tape level all the way around.
Height
Stand straight without shoes, with feet flat on the floor, and measure from the floor to the top of the head.
Height is not included in Bodile's women's size table, but it can be useful when considering overall body proportions alongside torso length.
Bodile women's sizes are intentionally grouped into overlapping ranges: XXS/XS, XS/S, S/M, M/L and L/XL. This gives dancers flexibility when choosing their preferred fit. Use all four published body measurements together, with torso length particularly useful for fitted leotards. Where two sizes overlap, consider both body length and how close you prefer your dancewear to feel.
Our first BODILE collection is available to pre-order. Orders begin shipping from 6 November 2026.

Description
Give your favourite leotard a fresh finish with the Bodile Mika mesh ballet skirt. Its slim pull-on shape combines a longer back hem, a left-thigh split and adjustable ruching for an asymmetric line you can personalise. Soft, sheer mesh adds a featherweight layer for class and rehearsal. Mika runs slightly small, so check your waist and hip measurements against the Bodile size chart.
Best For: Ballet class • Rehearsal layering • Slim skirt silhouettes • Adjustable gathered styling • Wearing over a leotard
Why Dancers Love the Bodile Mika Skirt
- Adjust the gathered shape: Leave the ruching relaxed for a longer drape or draw the ties higher to lift one side of the hem.
- A light layer: Fine stretch mesh feels soft and featherweight, keeping your leotard visible beneath the sheer fabric.
- A slim rehearsal line: The close silhouette, longer back and left-thigh split give Mika definition from every angle.
- Simple outfit changes: Pull it on for rehearsal, then slip it off when your next session calls for an uninterrupted view of the hips and legs.
SUPRABLIME® Stretch Mesh & Asymmetric Design
Mika uses Italian SUPRABLIME® stretch mesh - 80% nylon and 20% elastane. The soft, flexible fabric drapes around the hips and follows the skirt’s narrow shape, while the side split opens the silhouette as you move.
A smooth waistband frames the top, with signature gold branding adding a small finishing detail. The high-low hem falls longer at the back, and adjustable ruching ties lift one side to change the gathered outline. These ties adjust the skirt’s drape; they do not tighten the waistband.
This Australian-designed skirt is sheer throughout, allowing your leotard and legs to remain visible. The finished length depends on your chosen size, waistband position and how much you gather the fabric.
Mika Skirt Sizing Advice & Studio Styling
Mika runs slightly small. Compare both your waist and hip measurements with the Bodile size chart. The brand recommends sizing up if you prefer to wear the skirt lower on your hips. Wearing it higher at the waist creates a different proportion and changes where the hem falls.
Pair Mika with the Bodile Sofia Signature tank leotard for a defined studio outfit. Choose complementary shades from the current range or introduce contrast with your favourite leotard. For a fuller skirt silhouette, explore Julieta’s full-circle mesh shape; Zara offers a shorter velvet alternative.
Dance World Tip: Set the waistband where you want it before adjusting the ruching. Gather gradually, then check the split and hem through a few familiar ballet movements before class.
