BLOCH A0529 Ribbon – Measuring & Sewing

Measure your required sections before cutting, leaving enough ribbon for secure stitching and tying. Check the placement and tension with your teacher or pointe shoe fitter, keeping the wrap comfortably secure without pulling it excessively tight.

Dance World Tip: Preview the ribbon over your usual tights before sewing. Sheer Pink can look deeper where the fabric overlaps or is folded in the pack.

Fit & Size

One pack: two yards of ribbon, approximately 1.8 metres long × 23 mm wide.

• Ask your ballet teacher or pointe shoe fitter to confirm the ribbon placement and whether this stretch style suits your shoe preparation.
• For a traditional tie-on arrangement, prepare four lengths, two for each shoe. Check that your planned lengths allow for sewing, wrapping and tying before cutting.
• Hand-sew the ends securely using the attachment method recommended for your shoes. BLOCH’s general sewing guidance attaches ribbon to the inner lining.
• Check the fit and knot, then tuck the ends neatly away. Confirm the final lengths before trimming excess ribbon.

Product Care

Handle the fine ribbon gently and keep it away from exposed hairpins, rough fastenings and other items that could snag it.

Check the sewn ends, ribbon edges and stretch regularly.
Replace ribbon that is damaged or no longer holds its shape, and repair loose stitching before dancing.
