Tendu Gel Toe Pads – Placement & Pointe Shoe Fit

Slip each pad over your toes with the shorter, perforated side underneath and the longer side on top. Smooth the gel into place and check that the edges lie flat before putting on your pointe shoes.

Bring the pads to your pointe shoe fitting so you can try shoes with the padding you intend to wear. The additional layer changes the space inside the toe box, so your fitter should assess the shoes and pads together. Your toes should remain comfortably lengthened within the shoe.

Caring for Your Tendu Toe Pads

Remove the pads from your shoes after dancing. Wash when needed and leave them to air dry completely before wearing or packing them again. Keeping the pair together makes them easy to find when it is time to prepare for class.

Dance World Tip: Check the pad edges before tying your ribbons. If an edge has folded or bunched up while putting your shoe on, remove the shoe, smooth the pad and check the fit again.

1. Slip one pad over the toes of each foot.
2. Position the shorter side with holes underneath your toes and the longer side on top.
3. Smooth the pads into place, keeping the edges flat.
4. Put on your pointe shoes and check that your toes remain comfortably lengthened and the pads have not folded.

Tendu advises that the underside can be trimmed to reduce bulk.
