Choosing & Caring for a First Pair of Handguards

Start with your coach’s recommendation on when to introduce grips. Before the first session, have the finger position, palm length and wrist fastening checked. Introduce the handguards gradually under supervision and follow the enclosed Reisport instructions.

Inspect them before every use, keep the leather dry and stop using them if the leather, dowel, stitching or fastening becomes damaged. Learning these checks gives young gymnasts a useful role in looking after their training equipment.
