Bodile's size ranges intentionally overlap. If your bust, waist or hips comfortably fit two sizes, use torso length as an important deciding measurement for leotards. A longer torso may feel more comfortable in the larger overlapping size, while a shorter torso may suit the smaller option.
How to Measure for Bodile Dancewear
Measure over underwear or close-fitting dancewear using a flexible tape measure. Stand naturally and keep the tape comfortably against the body without pulling it tight.
Torso Length
Key Leotard MeasurementFollow Bodile's measuring diagram and measure the length of the torso vertically down the body. Keep the tape straight and close to the body without pulling it tight.
Bodile calls this measurement Torso Length. It should not be substituted with the full shoulder-through-crotch girth loop commonly used by some other dancewear brands.
Bust
Measure around the fullest part of the bust, keeping the tape straight and level around the body without compressing it.
Waist
Measure around the natural waist, usually the narrowest part of the torso. Keep the tape level and comfortably close to the body.
Hips
Measure around the fullest part of the hips and seat while standing naturally. Keep the tape level all the way around.
Height
Stand straight without shoes, with feet flat on the floor, and measure from the floor to the top of the head.
Height is not included in Bodile's women's size table, but it can be useful when considering overall body proportions alongside torso length.

Curved front seams extend from the square neckline towards a softly pointed lower edge. The velvet’s gentle sheen reveals the panel shape against the smooth surrounding fabric. Black BODILE elastic defines the neckline and large back opening, with a gold butterfly clasp at the nape and a small gold emblem below.
The main body uses ECOSCULPT® - 78% ECONYL® regenerated nylon and 22% Lycra. Supportive compression, two-way stretch and strong shape retention create a close, sculpting feel. Pilling resistance and moisture-wicking properties add practical details for regular studio wear.
A classic ballet leg line and 100% cotton gusset complete this Australian-designed leotard. The main body and velvet front contrast with deliberately sheer sleeves and an open back.
Fit, Auditions & Rehearsal Styling
Valentina runs true to size, with a close ballet fit and full-length sleeves. Lift the main body into position before settling the sleeves and fastening the clasp, taking care to avoid pulling on the delicate mesh.
Wear Noire Ink Ash with tights alone to keep the neckline and panel lines visible. For rehearsals, the Bodile Julieta skirt adds a longer, full-circle mesh silhouette with flowing movement beneath the velvet bodice. Leotards and skirts are sold separately.
