BLOCH A0531 Pointe Shoe Ribbon – Measuring & Sewing

Measure each section before cutting, allowing enough ribbon for stitching, tying and tucking the ends. Compare the colour with your shoes and usual tights before sewing, then check the finished wrap before making your final trim.

Dance World Tip: Smooth out twists as you wrap. Both sides have a satin finish, but a twist can still create an uncomfortable ridge. Check that the ribbon feels comfortably secure with your ankle gently flexed.

Fit & Size

One pack contains 2.5 yards of ribbon, approximately 2.3 metres, for one pair of pointe shoes.

• Ask your ballet teacher or pointe shoe fitter to confirm the ribbon attachment points for your shoes and feet.
• For a conventional tie-on arrangement, prepare four lengths, two for each shoe. Check that each planned length allows for sewing, wrapping, tying and tucking before cutting.
• Hand-sew the ribbon ends securely using the method recommended for your shoes. BLOCH’s general guide attaches ribbon to the inner lining.

Product Care

Keep the satin away from exposed hairpins, rough fastenings and sharp accessories that could snag the surface.

Check the sewn ends and cut edges regularly. Repair loose stitches before dancing and replace ribbon that is damaged or badly frayed.
