Bodile's size ranges intentionally overlap. If your bust, waist or hips comfortably fit two sizes, use torso length as an important deciding measurement for leotards. A longer torso may feel more comfortable in the larger overlapping size, while a shorter torso may suit the smaller option.
How to Measure for Bodile Dancewear
Measure over underwear or close-fitting dancewear using a flexible tape measure. Stand naturally and keep the tape comfortably against the body without pulling it tight.
Torso Length
Key Leotard MeasurementFollow Bodile's measuring diagram and measure the length of the torso vertically down the body. Keep the tape straight and close to the body without pulling it tight.
Bodile calls this measurement Torso Length. It should not be substituted with the full shoulder-through-crotch girth loop commonly used by some other dancewear brands.
Bust
Measure around the fullest part of the bust, keeping the tape straight and level around the body without compressing it.
Waist
Measure around the natural waist, usually the narrowest part of the torso. Keep the tape level and comfortably close to the body.
Hips
Measure around the fullest part of the hips and seat while standing naturally. Keep the tape level all the way around.
Height
Stand straight without shoes, with feet flat on the floor, and measure from the floor to the top of the head.
Height is not included in Bodile's women's size table, but it can be useful when considering overall body proportions alongside torso length.

Smoky Plum Mesh & Black LEOPREME® Fabric
A SUPRABLIME® mesh overlay traces Sofia’s corset-inspired front, with panel lines leading to a softly pointed lower edge. The muted plum mesh deepens over the black base and appears lighter where skin shows through at the shoulders and back. A small gold emblem finishes the rear view.
The main body uses LEOPREME® - 80% nylon and 20% Lycra. Its breathable, soft-touch fabric has a demi-matte finish, combining supportive stretch with shape retention, pilling resistance and moisture-wicking properties.
The main body is unlined, with self-fabric lining in the separate underbust support panel. Mesh at the neckline and beneath the deep scoop back remains intentionally sheer. A classic ballet leg line and 100% cotton gusset complete this Australian-designed leotard.
Sofia Tank Sizing Advice & Everyday Studio Styling
This design runs short through the body. Bodile recommends sizing up for a longer torso. Compare your measurements with the size chart, then raise both arms during fitting to check that the fixed straps and neckline sit comfortably without pulling.
Start with ballet tights, then add the Bodile Mika mesh skirt for a slim high-low silhouette with adjustable ruching and a side split. Black keeps the combination tonal; complementary plum picks up the overlay. A cream wrap softens the outfit, while charcoal warm-ups continue the darker palette.
Dance World Tip: Ease the leotard into position using the main body, then settle the mesh shoulders gently. Check the neckline and underbust panel through your usual arm movements before class. The skirt shown in styling photographs is sold separately.
