BLOCH Soleil Mesh Foot Glove – Design & Performance

Soleil’s fine stretch-mesh upper follows the top of the foot before separating into five individual open-ended toe channels. Each toe receives a light protective layer without the need for separate loops or straps.

The toe-by-toe construction maintains a smooth, glove-like profile while allowing the toes to remain visible and move naturally. It is especially useful during floorwork, when the tops and sides of the toes may otherwise meet the studio surface directly.

Underneath, a leather forefoot outsole with additional internal padding protects the toes and ball of the foot from repeated friction. The leather provides the working surface for turns, while the cushioning softens pressure without adding the bulk of a complete dance shoe.

Ventilation holes within the outsole help heat and moisture escape. A wide V-shaped elastic with silicone backing distributes the hold across the upper foot and helps keep the leather working surface correctly positioned.

The BLOCH Soleil Foot Glove is designed for a close, glove-like performance fit. The mesh should sit smoothly over the upper forefoot and around each toe without loose fabric, while the leather working surface should remain centred beneath the ball of the foot.

BLOCH's guidance is based on a medium-width foot. Dancers with a broader forefoot or longer toes may prefer the larger adjacent size.

When checking the fit:
• The leather outsole should sit directly beneath the ball of the foot.
• Each toe should sit comfortably in its channel without curling or being pulled backwards.
• The toe openings should remain secure without cutting into the skin.
• The mesh should lie smoothly across the upper foot.
• The V-shaped elastic should sit flat and feel secure without excessive pressure.
• Rise onto relevé and move through a turn to confirm that the footpad stays correctly aligned.

The individual toe design makes toe length and forefoot shape especially important; two dancers with the same shoe size may prefer different Soleil sizes.

Fit guidance is intended as a starting point. Forefoot width, toe length, foot volume and preferred closeness can affect the final choice.

Spot clean the mesh upper using a soft, slightly damp cloth and a small amount of mild detergent.

Wipe the leather working surface carefully and use a soft, dry brush to remove studio dust when required. Avoid prolonged soaking or machine washing, as excess water may affect the leather, stretch mesh and silicone backing.

Allow Soleil to air dry naturally away from radiators, tumble dryers, direct heat and strong sunlight.
